Porcelain veneers, onlays, and crowns, can give you the beautiful, long-lasting smile of your dreams, and can also help strengthen your teeth. There are a number of different porcelains, or ceramics, available, and whether you've chipped, broken, cracked, or stained your existing teeth, these restorations may be the right solution for you. Whereas composite filling material can stain over time, porcelain does not stain to coffee, tea, wine, or smoking. When doing cosmetic porcelain to change your smile, we first look at your existing smile and decide on a shape and shade of your new teeth. We may then send models of your teeth to our dental lab technician who builds up your new smile on the models in wax. We then make any changes that we need to of your existing teeth, and we "try-out" your new teeth with a natural-looking composite material. We make any changes to the length, shape, color, and bite, and then we take models and pictures of these teeth and our ceramist creates the final, beautiful results. We then get them back from the ceramist and make sure we like everything about them. When we agree we love the way they look, we place them on your teeth.
